Reviews
Iconic downtown eatery and bookstore. Great menu with a good variety of options with multiple choices for individuals looking for gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options. A variety of daily soups as well but honesty I’ve never ventured from my first meal there years ago which was the #1 pizza special with a 3-topping slice of your choice, a top notch house salad and a drink. It’s consistently amazing! Also theres a hidden patio in the back when its nice out!
Charming spot with tasty food. Be warned the pizza slices are like 1/4 of a pizza lol. I ate both of mine but didn't know what was coming my way! The food was good AND there is a coffee shop and book store attached so after all that pizza go grab a coffee lol. Recommend this place if you're in the downtown area.
The house salad was the best item on the menu we tried. The pizza was nicely done. I had a Ruben sandwich, they were out of the marble rye, so I chose the wheat bread, it was just ok. Not enough meat or thousand island dressing.
Big place books, puzzles, jewelry, greeting cards like ten flavors of tea, and baked goods that we did not try.
I had the hibiscus tea and it was delicious. No sweetener but still satisfying.
We stopped in on a Sunday after enjoying the day walking around the downtown area. We ordered 3 large pies, a large salad with chicken, and 6 six drinks. Our total came out to about 150 bucks. It was pretty pricey, even though one of the pies was part of a family deal. My husband didn't care much for the pizza. He said it lacked sauce, but the kids liked it, and I can see that the cheese was very fresh. The salad was very big and filling with lots of veggies, but the chicken did lack a little flavor. Overall, the service was good and the food was ok.
Not a ton of seating area but they use their space super well! I was so excited to see so many gluten free options, I've never seen a place do gluten free pizza by the slice before! The bakery area also had ready to-go gluten free desserts, the cream cheese brownie was amazing. I am super impressed with Poor Richard's.
Had the Slice and salad combo. Super fresh house salad with good dressing. My pizza had a thick layer of cheese and so much of the toppings I chose. The crust was the best part and cooked well. All at a good price.
It’s always great to find a vegan option when traveling, so I was happy to see the menu for Poor Richard’s. Very friendly counter service, and although the dining area wasn’t very large, there weren’t many people there so we had a nice seat looking out the front window. We both got the Sesame Ginger Bowl and while I have preferred just a bit less sauce, my traveling companion really loved it. It was super tasty, healthy, and overall we had a really pleasant lunch experience here.
A great cafe with tons of food options, plenty of seating, and a nice vibe. There's an outdoor seating area in back when it's warm, as well as an area for kids to play. I think my favorite I've tried on multiple visits is the pizza, but my Reuben last time was good too. My kiddos enjoyed the kids menu options as well
